My mission is to empower you to navigate and thrive in an accelerating world—unlocking your potential through clear, honest insights on AI, energy shifts, autonomy, and human limits. With over 20 years as an engineer in telecommunications, satellite, space, and maritime industries, I've seen how technology reshapes everything. My own journey—from sedentary to Ironman 70.3 and ultras—taught me discipline in pushing barriers, whether in male-dominated tech fields or on remote trails. Now, I'm breaking down what's real vs. hype in tomorrow's tech, so you can make better decisions in work, exploration, and life. Let's conquer the challenges ahead—together.
All About Me
Hello everyone, I'm Betania! Originally from Brazil, I immigrated to Montreal, Quebec, where I kicked off my career in technical roles on satellite ground segment and telecom.
In 2022, I relocated to Vancouver to project manage satellite programs, and now I work in maritime applications—progressing from hands-on engineering and manufacturing through project leadership to sales and business realities. Electrical engineer with over 20 years in technology, I speak Portuguese, French, English, and Spanish, and hold a personal training certification. Earlier on, I studied photography, worked as an assistant director in cinema, and engaged with pole dance fitness communities around 2012.

My drive has always been understanding and pushing limits, technical systems or human ones. Ten years ago, I started my fitness journey; in 2020, after 24 years of smoking, I quit cold to train for my first ultramarathon. At 35 (2016), I was sedentary; that year I committed to daily workouts and clean eating, flipping my life.

That same systems grit now fuels my shift: cutting through noise to explain what's actually happening in AI deployment, energy transitions, autonomy, space/maritime realities, and how tech reshapes human potential/exploration, no hype, grounded takes from someone who's lived the full tech lifecycle.

Here's the fitness journey that sharpened my edge:

-
2016: Committed to daily training/clean eating at age 35
-
2017: 365-day challenge; Under Armour Canada ambassador
-
2018–2019: Calisthenics focus, then bouldering
-
2020: Quit smoking → zero to ultramarathon (52km) in 6 months
-
2021: Cycling + 3 half marathons post-Vancouver move
-
2022: Paris Marathon on 42nd birthday + tri prep - Learned how to swim
-
2023: Sprint/super sprint triathlons + Long Beach full marathon
-
2024: Ironman 70.3 (learned swim <1 year) + Sacramento marathon
-
2025: Tokyo Marathon (4th full) + first T100 (2km swim/80km bike/18km run)
-
2026: Building for 50km ultra (1600m elevation) + learning samba to become a dancer

I've built an Instagram community around inspiration and support, collaborating with brands on wellness/grit. Now, I'm channeling that discipline into content: honest journalism-style explainers on tech's real impact, bridging engineering truth with on-the-ground realities of pushing edges.
